Hello everybody, we are animal rights advocates from Georgia. I can describe the living conditions of dogs and cats as unbearable in our country.
Often the tragic story repeats itself. They are kicked out, tortured, bred, and sold without proper control. Sadly, Georgia doesn’t have proper legislation that would effectively protect animal rights. The only way to mitigate this humanitarian catastrophe is population control via sterilization/castration. We have state-funded animal shelters in several big cities, but they can’t cover the entire country.
Because of the severity of the problem, we have started a sterilization/castration campaign in one of the highland areas of Georgia, Tsalka. The harsh climate of Tsalka is especially hard on animals. They don’t have access to food, and they are completely vulnerable. The animals reproduce uncontrollably, and litters of puppies and kittens are killed or tossed in uninhabited places.
We plan to sterilize/castrate, vaccinate and tag 60 dogs and cats, which requires significant finances. We would have a group of veterinarians come to Tsalka and conduct sterilization with the help of volunteers. It is our hope that you support us in our effort to save animals in one region of Georgia.
